Softball Recap: Laurel Highlands Wins Going Away Against Oakland Catholic

The Laurel Highlands Mustangs made easy work of Oakland Catholic on Wednesday and carried off a 10-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Izzy Coleman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayla Howell, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chloe Komacko, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Laurel Highlands hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Catholic struck out seven times.

Laurel Highlands now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Oakland Catholic, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Laurel Highlands is taking a road trip to square off against Elizabeth Forward at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakland Catholic, they will be playing at home against Taylor Allderdice at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
