Recap: Plymouth South Panthers vs. Billerica Memorial Indians
The Plymouth South Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Billerica Memorial Indians on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 29-27. While losing is never fun, Plymouth South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Billerica Memorial is ranked tenth).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casious Johnson, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Justin LaChance was in the mix too, providing Plymouth South with two touchdowns.
Plymouth South's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Billerica Memorial, their win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plymouth South will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Plymouth North at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Plymouth North is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Billerica Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Lawrence at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
