Baseball Recap: Grace Takes a Loss

Grace had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 7-9-2 to make it four. They lost 7-1 to the Dos Pueblos Chargers. The Lancers were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Grace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Morlett, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Dos Pueblos, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Dos Pueblos' side, Taylor Young was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zach Gesswein, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace will challenge Thacher at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Toads will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dos Pueblos, they will square off against Oxnard at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
