Softball Recap: Clearfield Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Clearfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers. That's two games straight that the Bison have won by just one run.

Aevril Hayward was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Hayward is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Eve Siegel, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.

Clearfield's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hollidaysburg, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
