Basketball Game Preview: Pontiac Indians vs. Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers

The Pontiac Indians will take on the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pontiac lost 57-32 to St. Joseph-Ogden on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Spartans are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Paxton-Buckley-Loda came up short against Tolono Unity on Friday and fell 44-36. The Panthers have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Paxton-Buckley-Loda's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Pontiac, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Pontiac against Paxton-Buckley-Loda in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 61-27 win. Will Pontiac repeat their success, or does Paxton-Buckley-Loda have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
