Willows is 8-2 against Winters since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Honkers will challenge the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Willows has given up an average of 15.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Willows turned things around against Pierce on Friday. They blew past the Bears 23-16.
Ady Hurlburt was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gianna Calonico, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Winters suffered their closest defeat since March 21st on Monday. They fell just short of Durham by a score of 5-3. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Ava Estepa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Winters saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Iza Bermudez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Winters' loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Willows, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-19.
Willows might still be hurting after the 27-9 defeat they got from Winters in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Honkers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
