Softball Recap: Buckeye Local Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Buckeye Local duked it out with Edison on Saturday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-2. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Buckeye Local saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Avah Williams also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Buckeye Local's record is now 2-5. As for Edison, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Buckeye Local is taking a road trip to challenge East Liverpool at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Potters have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.22 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
