Softball Recap: Clay Comes Up Short

If Clay was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Bradford on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils lost 14-1 to the Fleming Island Golden Eagles on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since March 18th.

Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Fleming Island, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay will face off against Providence School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils are facing the Stallions at the right time seeing as the Stallions are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Fleming Island, they will challenge Nease at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
