Wheatland let El Dorado stack seven runs on them in the fifth inning on Saturday but luckily Wheatland prevailed anyway. The Pirates skirted past the Cougars 9-7. The victory was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jordan James and Hughston Rodney did most of the damage at the plate: James went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Rodney went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Rodney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kale Nakamura, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wheatland's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for El Dorado, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wheatland will host Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Dorado, they will head out to take on Amador at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
