Baseball Recap: Marian Catholic Comes Up Short

Marian Catholic came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-4 to the Niles Notre Dame Dons. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dons earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Rocco Debergh was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Jazarris Mackmore was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Marian Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-21 record this season. As for Niles Notre Dame, their record now sits at 10-18-1.

Looking ahead, Marian Catholic will host St. Rita at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Niles Notre Dame, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lake Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
