Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Starts off Right with Win over Crooms Academy

Liberty Christian had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crooms Academy Panthers, sneaking past 31-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Liberty Christian also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Crooms Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Akilah Manley and Zoe Fulgencio. Manley posted 14 points, while Fulgencio had 11 points. That was a full 37.9% of Crooms Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Crooms Academy dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crooms Academy has already played their next game (against Lyman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
