Softball Recap: Sparrows Point Comes Up Short

Sparrows Point was the 5-1 winner over Carver A&T when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Sparrows Point lost 11-4 to Carver A&T on Thursday. The Pointers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Alexa Benkowski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Marisa Muffoltto also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Even though they lost, Sparrows Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Sparrows Point's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Carver A&T, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Sparrows Point will host Eastern Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carver A&T, they will face off against Towson on Monday.
