Baseball Recap: Colts Neck Beats Monmouth Regional for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Colts Neck put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Monmouth Regional Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Nick Hayden looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Colts Neck got a big performance out of John Glusko, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Ronan Kiely, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Colts Neck's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Monmouth Regional, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Colts Neck will square off against Hopewell Valley Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Monmouth Regional, they will face off against Long Branch at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
