Baseball Recap: Southwest Onslow Takes a Loss

Southwest Onslow fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against East Duplin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Stallions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Southwest Onslow is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.75 runs. As for East Duplin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Southwest Onslow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Duplin, they have already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against East Bladen on the 30th.
