Softball Recap: Dodd City Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Dodd City and Jonesboro squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Dodd City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 8-7 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kailen Kavanaugh made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Dodd City's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Jonesboro, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

While Dodd City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
