Bailey Hale leads a balanced attack to beat Lawrence County

Recap: Brewer Patriots vs. Lawrence County Red Devils

The Brewer Patriots lost to the Lawrence County Red Devils back in February of 2023, but the Brewer Patriots didn't allow the Lawrence County Red Devils the same satisfaction on Friday. Brewer skirted past Lawrence County 47-44.

Brewer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Hale, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Hale hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Lilly Grace Yancey was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Lawrence County saw an underclassman step up: Alivia Terry scored 24 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Boyll, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.

Brewer now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Lawrence County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brewer will play host again and welcome Russellville, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Point at 5:30 p.m. West Point is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.
