Volleyball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Westwood faced off against Corsicana on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jalyse Johnson paced Westwood's offense, picking up six kills. Johnson got some help from Lyla Huddleston and her 12 assists.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Corsicana, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Westwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Athens on the 22nd. As for Corsicana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Elkhart on the 23rd.
