Basketball Recap: Carver Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ninety Six over American Leadership Academy

Ninety Six was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the American Leadership Academy Patriots, falling 61-39. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-44 back in January.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carver Davis, who posted 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Davis a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Kamani Williams, who put up eight points.

American Leadership Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Newton out in front who earned 18 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Miles, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards.

Ninety Six's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for American Leadership Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-17.

Ninety Six didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-41 loss against Strom Thurmond on the 13th. As for American Leadership Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 58-56 victory against Pelion on the 13th.
