Basketball Game Preview: Rittman Indians vs. Norwayne Bobcats

Rittman is 0-10 against Norwayne since January of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Rittman Indians will square off against the Norwayne Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.

Rittman is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 23rd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Chippewa and fell 49-12. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 764th, while the Chipps are ranked 152nd).

Meanwhile, Norwayne had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Wednesday. They managed a 51-47 win over the Bulldogs.

Norwayne's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points per game. As for Rittman, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-20.

Rittman was dealt a bruising 71-4 loss at the hands of Norwayne in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Norwayne's Ava Maibach, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.
