Pius X faced South Sioux City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Thunderbolts fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. Pius X's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of George Medinger, which was the first he's scored this season.

Pius X now has a losing record of 3-4. As for South Sioux City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Pius X will venture away from home to face off against North Platte at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pius X are facing North Platte at the right time seeing as North Platte are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for South Sioux City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Norfolk at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Norfolk will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something South Sioux City surely won't give up without a fight.
