Soccer Recap: Gateway Charter Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gateway Charter's offense. They came up short against the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Griffins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Thunder are ranked 211th).

Gateway Charter dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Out-of-Door Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1-2.

When Gateway Charter and Out-of-Door Academy next hit the pitch, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Gateway Charter will try to stop South Fort Myers' three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. Similarly, Out-of-Door Academy will take on Admiral Farragut and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
