Baseball Game Preview: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. Airport Eagles

The Strom Thurmond Rebels are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against the Airport Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Strom Thurmond blew Aiken out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Aiken got their revenge. Strom Thurmond fell just short of Aiken by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rebels have suffered against the Fighting Green Hornets since March 5, 2022.

Meanwhile, Airport was not able to secure the win in their season-opener last Tuesday. Neither they nor Clover could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 6-6 tie.

Strom Thurmond suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Airport when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Strom Thurmond avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
