Basketball Recap: Sands Comes Up Short

Sands and Whitharral squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sands had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Whitharral Panthers 72-41. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Whitharral's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenton Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Sansom, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Sands' loss dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Whitharral, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Sands nor Whitharral have any future games scheduled.
