Spanish Fork is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Fremont. Winning may never get old, but the Dons sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Lia Higginson was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spanish Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hunter made easy work of Viewmont on Friday and carried off a 16-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won six in a row.
KENYA LAPUAHO was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on IZABELLA MAILO, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was ALEXA OLSEN, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Spanish Fork's record is now 22-7. As for Hunter, their record now sits at 21-9.
Hunter's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Spanish Fork has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game.
