Mt. Carmel is 9-1 against Robinson since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Aces will take on the Maroons at 4:30 p.m. Mt. Carmel will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Mt. Carmel proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Princeton.
Mt. Carmel got a massive performance out of Leah Lewis, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Andrews, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Mt. Carmel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only posted a batting average of .276.
Meanwhile, Robinson didn't have quite enough to beat Marshall on Tuesday and fell 4-3.
Robinson saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leighton Boyd, who went 2-for-6 with two doubles and one RBI. Rhianna Moss also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Robinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Mt. Carmel beat Robinson 7-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Golden Aces repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
