Baseball Recap: Schuylerville Beats Hudson Falls for Their Third Straight Win

Schuylerville came out on top against Hudson Falls on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Horses put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 8-1 win. The Horses might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Alex Palmer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Alex Renner was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since April 4th. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dunbar, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs.

The victory was the third in a row for Schuylerville, bringing their record up to 9-3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Schuylerville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hudson Falls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
