Waltrip put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Austin Mustangs a 16-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eris Aiken was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Waltrip got a massive performance out of Haley Allen, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Mireya Chavez, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Waltrip was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .650. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.

Waltrip's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Austin, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Waltrip will face off against Milby at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Austin, they will square off against Sharpstown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
