Softball Recap: Cretin-Derham Hall Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Cretin-Derham Hall and White Bear Lake meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Raiders fell just short of the Bears by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since April 14th.

Cretin-Derham Hall saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Castro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Anna Rafferty also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Cretin-Derham Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for White Bear Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cretin-Derham Hall will square off against rival Mounds View at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, White Bear Lake is set to challenge their familiar foe Woodbury at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
