Football Recap: Rocky Mountain Comes Up Short

Rocky Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cherokee Trail Cougars. The Lobos lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 37-6 score last time.

The critical scores for Cherokee Trail came from Cristian Mbamarah and Rayshon Stanley.

Rocky Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Cherokee Trail, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Rocky Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-15 win against Poudre on the 25th. As for Cherokee Trail, they have also already played their next matchup, a 38-21 defeat against Dakota Ridge on the 26th.
