In what's become a running theme this season, Morenci gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Everything went their way against the Benson Bobcats as the Morenci Wildcats made off with a 17-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Morenci.

Cameryn Woodall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Woodall has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Woodall was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Alizabeth Aguilar was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Jaliyah Hernandez was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.

On Benson's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Francione, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Morenci's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Benson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-17.

Morenci will play host again on Monday to welcome Pima, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:00 p.m. Pima is coming into the game with eight straight wins on the road, so Morenci will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Benson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
