Baseball Recap: Rural Special Takes a Loss

Rural Special was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Concord Pirates, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Pirates when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rural Special's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Concord, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rural Special will challenge Norfork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Concord, they will take on Viola at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Viola's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
