Basketball Recap: San Miguel Takes a Loss

San Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 36th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the San Simon Longhorns and fell 46-4. The Vipers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-2.

Leading San Simon to victory were Hollie Keil and Bryleigh Sloan. Keil posted ten points and seven steals, while Sloan went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and three steals. Sloan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played. Yulissa Romo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

San Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for San Simon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-12.

San Miguel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-10 defeat against Bisbee on the 3rd. As for San Simon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 37-16 victory against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind on the 5th.
