Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Ram vs. Potomac Falls Panthers

Riverside is on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Potomac Falls is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Riverside Ram will host the Potomac Falls Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Riverside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.

Last Thursday, Riverside earned a 65-58 win over Briar Woods. Given the Ram's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Falcons are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Ridgeway out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Joell Basue, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Potomac Falls strolled past Independence with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 64-49.

Potomac Falls has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 18-1.

Riverside came out on top in a nail-biter against Potomac Falls in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 75-73. Does Riverside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Potomac Falls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
