Preview: Freeport Bulldogs vs. South Walton Seahawks
The Freeport Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the South Walton Seahawks at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Freeport comes in on three and South Walton on four.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Freeport at home against Destin as the squad secured a 58-13 win. Given Freeport's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Destin is ranked 508th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jasmine Miles continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, South Walton made off with a 43-42 victory over Enterprise.
Freeport is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for South Walton, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Things could have been worse for Freeport, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-48 loss to South Walton when the teams last played back in January. Can Freeport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
