Volleyball Game Preview: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Escalon Cougars + How To Watch

The Hilmar Yellowjackets will face off against the Escalon Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hilmar is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Palma with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Hilmar never let Palma on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-13, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Escalon posted their closest victory since October 9th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Kelseyville.

Escalon was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-7.

Hilmar better keep an eye on Emma Rangel. She was instrumental in Escalon's win, getting 12 digs and six assists. That's the most assists Rangel has posted since back in August.

Escalon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 14 consecutive matches.

Hilmar's victory bumped their record up to 24-16. As for Escalon, they now have a winning record of 17-16.
