Softball Recap: Delavan Comes Up Short

After soaring to 12 runs the game before, Delavan was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They fell 7-2 to the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Chiefs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Nola Houston was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Harper, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Delavan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, their record now sits at 15-11.

Looking ahead, Delavan will be playing at home against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluejays have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will challenge Fisher at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
