Bishop Fenwick is 2-8 against Badin since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Falcons will square off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Bishop Fenwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Bishop Fenwick fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Chaminade Julienne Catholic last Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
Von Bargen Hadley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Badin's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Carroll a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won ten contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Phebe Kiefer looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Judy Harris, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mattie Canupp, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Badin's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Bishop Fenwick suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Badin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
