The Albert Lea Tigers will challenge the Red Wing Wingers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Albert Lea's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Faribault. The Tigers have beaten the Falcons the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Logan Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Schewe, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Westeng, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Albert Lea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Red Wing had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Winhawks as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Wingers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Red Wing's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Albert Lea, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Albert Lea skirted past Red Wing 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wingers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
