The Southeast Guilford Falcons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 50-20 loss at the hands of Northwest Guilford. Southeast Guilford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-14.
Southeast Guilford's loss came despite strong showings from Alexander Marsh and Bryon Arant. Marsh threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, while Arant picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Northwest Guilford was led to victory by Tanner Ballou and Malique Jones. Ballou threw for 211 yards and four touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, while Jones rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Northwest Guilford also got help from Henry Sterling who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
Southeast Guilford's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.5 points per game. As for Northwest Guilford, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
