Softball Game Preview: Pymatuning Valley Lakers vs. Edgewood Warriors

The Pymatuning Valley Lakers will take on the Edgewood Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Pymatuning Valley knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Edgewood likes a good challenge.

Pymatuning Valley's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Chalker hitters got past them. The Lakers fell 14-11 to the Wildcats on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), the Lakers still had to take the loss.

McKenna Jordan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hudson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Edgewood got the win against Lakeside on Thursday by a conclusive 22-12. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Pymatuning Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Pymatuning Valley might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Edgewood in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
