Softball Game Preview: Allentown Central Catholic Vikings vs. Emmaus Hornets

Allentown Central Catholic hasn't had much luck against Emmaus recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will welcome the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Allentown Central Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Emmaus will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Allentown Central Catholic turned things around against William Allen on Monday. They blew past the Canaries 12-1.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Menecola, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Lewis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Whitehall hit Emmaus with a six-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets fell just short of the Zephyrs by a score of 8-7. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Taylor Hauver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Sadie Haefeli was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Allentown Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Emmaus, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
