Tottenville is 9-1 against Curtis since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
On Wednesday, Tottenville made easy work of Wagner and carried off a 10-3 win. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Veronica Broadbent was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Broadbent was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Piera Campagna was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Amanda Reyes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Curtis put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Port Richmond as they made off with an 18-4 win. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
The team relied heavily on Abigail Hynes, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Hynes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season.
Curtis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Tottenville's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Curtis, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Tottenville beat Curtis 12-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
