Chester hasn't had much luck against Trico recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chester gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They won by a run and slipped past Marissa/Coulterville 10-9. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Meteors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lexie Mott was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camryn Wolff, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Maggie Caby, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two doubles.
Chester hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marissa/Coulterville struck out 11 times.
Meanwhile, Trico won against Harrisburg on Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Pioneers walked away with a 6-3 victory over Goreville.
Zoe Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Trico got a big performance out of Emma Williams, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayci Casten, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The win got Chester back to even at 13-13. As for Trico, their record now sits at 17-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chester hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Trico struggles in that department as they've averaged .318. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
