Baseball Recap: Talawanda Wins Going Away Against Mt. Healthy

Talawanda never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They blew past the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls 26-0. The result was nothing new for the Brave, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaiden Woodall tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jericho Fletcher was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Schutte, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Talawanda is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Mt. Healthy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Talawanda will head out on the road to take on Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Healthy will be paying especially close attention to the Brave's match: after the Brave faces off against Hamilton, they'll take on Mt. Healthy again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
