Basketball Game Preview: Paraclete Spirits vs. Cathedral Phantoms

The Paraclete Spirits will challenge the Cathedral Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paraclete has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Paraclete is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 12, 2024 on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 73-53 margin over Palmdale.

Meanwhile, Cathedral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salesian. While losing is never fun, the Phantoms can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 951st, while the Mustangs are ranked 429th).

Paraclete's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-13. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Cathedral, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15.

Paraclete came out on top in a nail-biter against Cathedral in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 58-56. Does Paraclete have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cathedral turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
