Basketball Recap: Xavier Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gilbert on Saturday, Xavier came back down to earth. The Saints took a 63-45 bruising from the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Go-Hawks are ranked ninth).

Xavier's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Xavier does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they will head out to challenge Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.
