Basketball Recap: Ray Takes a Loss

Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Gregory-Portland Wildcats, falling 51-27. The Texans were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in January.

Gregory-Portland was led to victory by Bella Davis and Shifa Ali. Davis dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists, while Ali dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Those 15 points gave Ali a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Macie Besinaiz, who posted nine points.

Ray's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Gregory-Portland, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Ray will be taking part in a tournament against Bandera at 9:00 a.m. on December 27th. Bandera will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Ray surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gregory-Portland, they will welcome Alice at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
