Softball Game Preview: Jim Thorpe Olympians vs. Notre Dame Spartans

The Jim Thorpe Olympians will venture away from home to square off against the Notre Dame Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Jim Thorpe and seven for Notre Dame dating back to last season.

Jim Thorpe lost 13-4 to Palisades on Saturday.

Jim Thorpe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Sully, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame came up short against Pocono Mountain West on Thursday, falling 33-5.

Jim Thorpe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went Jim Thorpe's way against Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Jim Thorpe made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jim Thorpe since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
