Softball Game Preview: Heide Trask Titans vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

The Heide Trask Titans will take on the St. Pauls Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heide Trask's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so St. Pauls' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Heide Trask turned things around against Purnell Swett on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Rams 5-4.

Meanwhile, St. Pauls got the win against Red Springs on Monday by a conclusive 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

St. Pauls let Hailey Ray and Ke'Mya Baldwin run wild. Ray went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs, while Baldwin went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Ray has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Porter, who earned two RBI and one run.

St. Pauls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got St. Pauls back to even at 9-9. As for Heide Trask, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Everything went Heide Trask's way against St. Pauls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Heide Trask made off with a 13-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
