Softball Recap: Doane Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Doane Academy can now relate to. They fell 4-0 to the St. Joseph Wildcats on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for Doane Academy seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Doane Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for St. Joseph, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Doane Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Joseph, they will challenge Holy Cross on Thursday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
